The town of Los Gatos can be found at the southwest corner of Santa Clara County where the valley meets the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. It’s blessed with beautiful mountain views and warm weather much of the year.
Popular for its small town feel and bustling community, Los Gatos is within easy travel distance of Silicon Valley workplaces and Santa Cruz beaches alike. The vibrant downtown offers a variety of shopping and dining options; from boutiques to brand name stores and burger bars to fine dining.
Town Plaza Fountains
Residents and visitors mingle at the Farmer’s Market in the square or at Music in the Park or Jazz on the Plazz. Los Gatos hosts the largest holiday parade west of the Mississippi. Outdoor activities are very prominent with many hiking and biking trails in the mountains and one of the largest road biking clubs in the country. There are also numerous wineries and vineyards in the surrounding hills.
The Vasona Lake County Park is a popular recreation destination for locals and visitors with 150 acres (45 acres of lawn), several picnic areas, six ponds, Vasona Reservoir, and the Los Gatos Creek Trail. The Youth Science Institute (YSI) is located at the park’s north end; and at the south end is Oak Meadow Park, where you can ride the carousel, picnic, play sports, enjoy the playground, and take a miniature train ride on the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad. Hikers, runners, and bicyclists enjoy the Los Gatos Creek Trail, which begins at Lexington Reservoir and follows the Los Gatos Creek for nearly 14 miles.
